Set of minimum technical standards established to improve the reproduction of movie soundtracks in theatres and homes.

Time Base Corrector
When copying from VHS to VHS it eliminates a lot of the sync jitter, thus improving the quality of recording.

Total RMS Output
The higher the output, the louder, more powerful the system.

Traditional (4:3)
Traditional television picture format found predominately on smaller compact televisions. Larger Televisions are now adopting the Widescreen picture format (16:9).

Tube type (Super Flat Blackline S)
Virtually flat tube which Provides vivid images with high contrast and low reflection.

TV Link
Automatically copies a TVs channel preset data to the VCR.

Tweeter
Part of a loudspeaker or separate speaker that generates treble sounds.

Twin Tray
Two disc trays allowing any combination of DVD, CD or Video CD to be placed in the player at one time.

Twin Wave Laser
A high-precision Twin Laser Pick-up is used to read out signals from the disc. It features two laser diodes - one with a 650 nm wavelength for DVD, and the other with 780 nm for CD. Since the optimum wavelength is automatically selected and used for each format, data is read with the highest precision. Pioneer's unique mechanism also allows playback of CD-R and CD-RW discs.
