Macro Mode
Allows camera to focus on subject very close to the camera's lens, usually within 30cm.

Midnight Listening Mode
If others are sleeping or studying, trying to enjoy a program quietly shouldn't compromise such sound qualities as surround effects or dialogue clarity. Midnight Listening Mode is the solution. It adjusts subwoofer, rear and centre speaker levels, while enhancing delay and compressing dynamic range, for greater enjoyment of cinema-like sound at low volume.


MiniDV Player
Compact playback machine for DV. Saves wear and tear on the recording machine.

MP3
MP3 is a popular audio compression format used by millions of people worldwide for sharing and storing music on their home computers. MP3 files use different compression rates, but the more they are compressed, the worse the sound quality. MP3 compression at 128kbps is at a 10:1 ratio of the original CD file, and works out at approx 3-4 MB for a 3 minute track. WMA is a higher quality (bitrate for bitrate) format than MP3 So if you were to take the same song and encode it on MP3 and WMA at the same bitrate, then the WMA file should sound better.


MP4
MPEG-4 Compatible like MPEG-3, MPEG-4 gives good quality sound and images but uses far less space than most other formats.


MPEG2 5.1 Surround
Alternative digital audio system to Dolby Digital available on some DVD discs, delivering six independent channels of sound: stereo front left and right, centre dialogue and stereo rear channels, plus dedicated sub woofer
